The Crusaders manning the gate immediately bracket the area with their rifles, waiting for the order to fire.

  • The Guard Captain lowers his rifle. "We have nothing to parlay with you, Occupier. This is our land, and your replicants of the Queen aren't welcome here. Just like we told the last 45 of you we shot. So get out. Now."

  • Well, forty-five is steep, but you didn't get the message. So I decided to come here myself to discern what could possibly be happening. What a shame forty-five had to die just so the old residents of my once great city could cope with the changing times. She smirks. Recognize me yet?

  • "As I said, traitor. Leave now. You're not our leader anymore. You left us for dead during the Scourging, where your "people" died died in their thousands. We burned, and you laughed along with our murderers. So leave. NOW! Or we'll add forty-six to Cooker's rifle."

  • She sighs, bowing her head in sincerity. You aren't wrong. You see, I have a confession to make. I never was your queen. I was never fit to rule, as I'm sure you've noticed. Ultimately, the truth lies in Taeda Vale. The Princess there was and still is my master. She is the reason I was alive back then, and she is the reason I'm alive now. Upon learning of the Traitor's escape, the one you know as Felix, I left my post without leave and without permission to hunt him down. Perth Varcoe was a trap meant to lure him back, and every action performed in the time between my arrival and demise was meant to capture or kill him. I never wanted to rule, but I needed a way to deceive him into believing that my power was absolute. When you entered Perth Varcoe for the last time, you must've hated me. I can understand this rage, but you must understand: This new land, this new ruler, they are more fit than anyone to carry on the good legacy of what I indiscriminately started. Understand that they are not your enemy, but the people who would have them brought down will seek your heads too. Felix, the marauders, Venom Inc.; do not mistake their intent.

  • The Crusaders are firmly unimpressed. Their Captain rebuts Bellicose's false penitence. "So, the Occupier's dog had a hidden leash all this time. Good to know. And believe me when I say this: you are doubly traitor. You left us for dead, on the orders of a foreign master. We were born on this planet, many of us. The oldest in our ranks once believed you'd return for us. But even they have soured, facing the truth. You have two options. Leave, and keep your master's favors and their chain, or stay here and die on your feet. You have 15 seconds to comply."

  • You Rural hicks fail to understand, I broke my leash to find that Bastard Felix. I was rogue. If you thought that a child of strife would come to save you peasants from yourselves, then you clearly were blind before I even turned my back on the city. The "Occupiers" did not take your homes from you, they rebuilt it.

  • "We figured you still had some power, you know. You can't shirk all your responsibilities. So you know what? We're letting you go. Because some of us remember the oaths we made, even if they were oaths to traitors like you. If you ever decide to be your own ruler again, you know where we are." The Crusaders load their weapons and level them toward Bellicose, who is forced away from the gate.

  • As she mounts her horse and prepares for the journey home, she calls one last time. You still don't get it, do you? These people can help you more than anyone else. I used you to get to Felix. I did not care how many lives it would take. I was never meant to be ruler, but I chose to be one. The princess may seem intimidating... well, she is, but in the end, she cares about her kingdom. In the end, I did not. The offer to join still stands, and there will be no further hostile action taken against your people. But if you want them to live like humans and not pigs; help us help you. She departs.

  • The Crusaders watch her ride off in silence. The Guard Captain raises his hand, and a signal officer on the wall fires a green flare. A Watcher squad hidden high up in the forest along Bellicose's path responds, preparing their gear.

  • The Violet Lady takes notice of the flare. And to think she wants to HELP those hicks... She clenches the horse with her spurless boots, riding faster. Fine, then. If they think I'm a puppet, then I'll show them my strings.

Noting the increase in speed, the Guard Captian raises his right fist. A sniper fires, and Bellicose is nearly knocked from her horse as a .800 caliber round slices past her.

  • The Captain motions for the team to hold their fire. Bellicose seemed to have gotten their message: Don't try anything.

  • The Crusaders on the wall pause as the Watcher team records Bellicose's rant. "Did you think that was the right decision, sir?" The Guard Captain shrugs. "All I know is that my family's in the ground for work of hers, and that a little payback was in order."
