They give us enough etheric light as is. 6 a week, and 12 when IB is here. More for LH, how much do you really need, I'm at the point now where I really will only get it for items I don't even use at the moment. Just a couple more Crota guns on each character, then a few old vault weapons. After that it's just extra armor pieces.
It is given at an earnable pace right now that by the time TTK comes out, it will just be another extra stack of worthless material in your vault.

You can't quote best case scenarios as the average. I guarantee you that the average player doesn't accumulate every Etheric Light they possibly can. Try thinking about the players who don't play as hardcore as you do. No offense.
