And maybe that's where oryx comes into play. To try and convince us about how we were tricked into killing all these so called enemies, not to mention his own son. And he tries to reason with us to maybe see the truth. Or that maybe it's not really the traveler that's bad but it's the speaker. That's another good theory going around.

The speaker is actually the darkness, never taking off his mask, to reveal his true intention. He was feeding us lies, making us hate them. Then we set out across the solar system committing genocide.

Well we don't know for sure lol. We do know that the traveler was supposed to be the darkness. But Activision screwed us over on that. The speaker is a really shady guy for sure. I mean all he's all alone in that room of his. Everywhere else you go there's multiple people in a room. Except for his. So maybe he's made it to where no one can be in the room so that way no one goes snooping around lol
