Christianity in itself is a peaceful religion, but people are not and they are the ones that are violent. Christ never told anyone to go to war, but people do.

People killed in the name of a religion are killed because of that religion.

People are killed by people, just because they try to justify it by lying makes no difference. Christ never told anyone to murder. Now I do agree that there are several religions that do tell their constituents to murder.
