I love how your reasoned arguments are tearing him apart lol. The shit you say makes more sense. Here's my thoughts, traveler is not evil or the darkness, why? Because it sacrificed itself for us, it stopped the vex turning all our planets into machines, it stuck with us throughout every dark day. The hive were performing rituals on a shard of it draining it's light. The vex worshiped the heart to stop the traveler from regenerating itself. So why would it, if it is evil or the darkness have its armies detriment it in so many ways? Answer, it's good, and the reason the darkness pursues it is because it wishes to stamp out the "light of creation. Which the traveler effectively is, all it does is create.

 • Everything you're saying has no proof. You simply state exactly what the Traveler, Ghosts, and Speaker tell you. You never find any actual evidence of this in the game. The evidence in this thread is developed by Grimoire cards, which are supposed to be the truth of the story put in clues. Game mechanics cannot be used as evidence either, because they have no implication on the story and are simply modified to give players the most possible entertainment.

 • Grim cards are no proof either. It's speculation on the players part. The only thing that's true is what's in the game so far, if it changes fair enough. But until then I'm closer.

 • The Grimoire cards contradict what you're told in the game by the Speaker. This theory is based upon the fact that the Speaker has lied to the guardians. The original story for Destiny (before the writers quit because of Activision) had the Speaker and Traveler be evil, and Bungie may consider resurrecting this storyline so Destiny will no longer be criticized for having a fundamentally disappointing story.

 • Well exactly it's a fan bases theory, which is even less than what they tell you in the story. Plus I trust bill nighy :3

 • Good points. I think it's funny when people twist the lore around. Makes good conversations
