I had a crush on this girl from second grade onward (I'm going into my sophomore year this September). We went to the same private school with small class sizes, and our class was particularly close. We (19 of us) split 7 different ways for high school. I'm grateful my best friend ended up going to my high school, but I wish she had as well. I had tennis classes with her, and we were just generally close. One day, a week in June, during a vacation in Seattle, I called her on account of "20 seconds of insane courage". I confessed my feelings, etc. And it was at that point that she told me that she was moving to Colorado because her dad works in cardiology and found a good job there. Needless to say, I was heartbroken and spent the ride home in silence. My friends organized a going-away party for her, I went and attempted to socialize, she avoided talking to me at all costs. I guess she just found me weird, like lost girls do. I still see her in tennis classes (she moves in August) and it tears at my heart every time I see her, knowing that she is something I will always want but can never have.
Thanks for giving me a place to get this out.
