  • If you search up the definition of religion in the dictionary, it reads: "The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a god." Buddhism is more a set of ideals/principles than anything else. It can't be called a religion.

    Religion involves God. Buddhism is a set of ideals/principles that lacks any ties to a god, and thus is not a religion. Whether you believe it is a religion or not is your choice, no use in us arguing.

  • Religion does not inherently involve a god or gods. Often it does, but not always. In every source I listed there is a definition of religion that Buddhism falls under. Buddhism is more than a code of ethical conduct, it's a view on the supernatural structure of the universe.
