Tell the community EVERYTHING. Everything we're working on, everything we're thinking about working on, and everything that's already done and ready to go live (such as patches, rebalances, and hot-fixes). Then get community feedback on all of it and act on it as quickly as humanly possible. Majority of players don't want x item that we were planning on bringing with TTK? Boom. It's gone. Players want an endgame patrol where strike bosses roam the wilds? We'll do our best to implement it. A weapon is dominating PvP? We'll equalize it to be more on-par with the weapons in its class/rarity type- NOT nerf it and its entire class into oblivion. Have 100% transparency with the community, make sure that they know we honor and respect them, and especially ensure that they know that we're committed to their enjoyment of our games above all else. It'll be a busy day. Lol

  • Lol, well, it used to be my dream to work for Bungie. You know, before they sold their souls to Activision, fired Marty, and became whatever it is they are now.

  • I agree we definitely need more transparency

  • And then you're fired by the board of the CEO or whomever when something you say is taken out of context and blown out of proportions in the internet/forums. There is a reason that no company ever run has 100% transparency. Never going to happen.

  • Transparency can't harm you if you're not trying to do something dubious or questionable. Yes things can be taken out of context, but if you're being 100% open and honest, then all you have to do is point to the article/interview/post for anyone and everyone to find the answers they need and clear your name.

  • Which only works in the perfect world, which we do not live in. If you can find an example of company who practices 100% transparency than I'll eat my words, but it's not going to happen. Government is probably as close as you are going to get with FOIA laws but there are still exceptions.

  • Well, you've got me there- we don't live in a perfect world, and I can't give an example of a company that is 100% transparent to their consumers. But that doesn't mean that it's impossible. All it takes is one to take on the challenge; one company that says "no, we're not going to bait-and-switch our products to our consumers, we're not going to disrespect our valued customers by telling half-truths or even whole lies, and we're not going to keep in the dark those who have put their trust and hard-earned money in our company." Hey, that's how all the freedoms that we enjoy now came to be. Someone at some point decided that it was time for the standards to change for the better, and started making a difference. Look where that mentality has gotten us, and imagine where it could take us if the companies and organizations that we invest in decided to take on that same mentality. It may not have happened yet, but that doesn't mean that it never will. No need to be pessimistic about it. ;)
