Transparency can't harm you if you're not trying to do something dubious or questionable. Yes things can be taken out of context, but if you're being 100% open and honest, then all you have to do is point to the article/interview/post for anyone and everyone to find the answers they need and clear your name.

Which only works in the perfect world, which we do not live in. If you can find an example of company who practices 100% transparency than I'll eat my words, but it's not going to happen. Government is probably as close as you are going to get with FOIA laws but there are still exceptions.

Well, you've got me there- we don't live in a perfect world, and I can't give an example of a company that is 100% transparent to their consumers. But that doesn't mean that it's impossible. All it takes is one to take on the challenge; one company that says "no, we're not going to bait-and-switch our products to our consumers, we're not going to disrespect our valued customers by telling half-truths or even whole lies, and we're not going to keep in the dark those who have put their trust and hard-earned money in our company." Hey, that's how all the freedoms that we enjoy now came to be. Someone at some point decided that it was time for the standards to change for the better, and started making a difference. Look where that mentality has gotten us, and imagine where it could take us if the companies and organizations that we invest in decided to take on that same mentality. It may not have happened yet, but that doesn't mean that it never will. No need to be pessimistic about it. ;)
