Most did then I don't think a lot of people realize the level of racism then, black person in this time Would have been no differently seen than a sex toy is now. It was a complete and total absolute social norm even the abolitionists against slavery we're more racist than any person alive today. Even the abolitionists thought that whites were far superior but it was still wrong to enslave African Americans. This had barely even begun to change until the 1900's. All of the founders of this country were slave holders and extremely racist by the standards of today.
