So, A Matter of Family. (Spoilers ahead. They don't actually reveal anything shocking, but still).
Okay, firstly, the Batgirl. Her actual fighting style was done pretty well, it's obvious she was Bat-trained but also has this almost Catwomany touch. But seriously, her gadgets? Nothing new?! Literally the only difference between hers and Batman's is that he has more stuff, her Remote Hacking Device has a longer range. Kinda disappointing that she wasn't given anything vaguely unique, in my opinion. She does get this nice ability to kill the lights in a room, and also to create a distraction (allowing her to perform a Fear Takedown), but then again, these instances happen about four times between them.
The actual story.. It's about 30 minutes longer than the Harley Quinn one. You grapple up to the amusement park, you free some hostages (there are some nice Predator areas), disable some bombs, and then it's on to the boss fight. The boss fight was actually quite satisfying, how you and Robin take on Harley and Joker (and a load of thugs), that I liked. I just wish they maybe could've included one more villain :/ just to add a bit more flavour :/ I mean, I like the Joker and Harley but an extra villain would've just beefed the whole thing up a bit.
There was quite a nice little hidden backstory about the original founder of the park, culminating in his final log, which is unlocked by completing all of the mini arcade games found around the rig. That little bit of detail was quite nice.
But I could do so much nitpicking here! Like why are there medics amongst Joker's thugs... What.. Did they get fired shortly after, hence why none appeared in the previous games :L things like that just bug me for some reason, but anyway.
Collectibles. Sigh. Great. I really felt disappointed when I finally completed the Riddler missions in the base game. I'm really glad they gave me another opportunity to swoop around looking for collectibles -.- the Jack-in-a-Box's and the Balloons are pretty straightforward, it's the minuscule chatter-teeth that were a pain in the arse. Damnit Rocksteady.
Altogether it took me around two hours to finish the story, find all of the collectibles (f*cking teeth) and uncover the backstory. I'm hoping they don't price it too steeply for the non-season-pass guys. What's here is pretty nice.. There just isn't much of it. I'd say £5 would be about reasonable, anything over £7.50 would be a deal, a steal.. The sale of the f*cking century for Rocksteady.
P.S There is one jumpscare. Enjoy.
