This is a single part of a much larger story, A New Dark Shines, to read from the beginning of the beginning: An Exo Found on Mars; Maekir-4: Chapter 1; Heavy Artillery
The Lands in the North
Arttu was rushed back into his body, again he awoke in the snow covered and cold. New feelings began to grow inside him, new thoughts had been planted in his head, and most importantly new questions tore at his being to be answered.
He got up, dusting of the white powder, and continued to train. Whatever this Kell has done to rise into power like she did couldn't be underestimated, he had to be ready. The Fallen dropped like flies.
~
"Ok, well it seems like you're all ready to go Arttu. Are you sure you have everything you're going to need?" Cayde-6 asked, checking over Arttu's supplies one last time. "Once you're there there's no coming back until you're finished. Make sure everything you could need is packed."
Cayde-6 slapped him on his back wishing him luck and sent him off. Arttu began to get anxiety, he was forgetting something wasn't he? But what was it? He decided a quick check in his rooms wasn't out of the question and he immediately saw what he was looking for.
"How could I have left without you?"
~
"Ok, now just make sure you don't fly too close. She's got sentries posted to keep an eye out for guardians like yourself."
"I know."
"Oh, and don't forget you can't enter from the east because she's too close to the coastlines and will see you."
"Knew that too..."
"Or the north, that's too drastic and you'd never make it to the castle."
"Cayde-6, I was present at the briefing. I have to go south or west, south has a wall up and may be guarded; but west doesn't have it's wall up so it may be patrolled. I know. Relax. I'm touching down now."
Arttu stepped out of his ship and onto the snow covered soil beneath it. Everything was untouched, fresh clean snow, it was beautiful. But in its beauty lie it's dangers, a single Fallen could see the tracks he left and completely give away his position. He would have to choose his path wisely.
"Good luck Hunter, a lot is counting on you. No pressure." The sounds of Cayde-6 walking away was heard from Arttu's ghost, Cayde-6 was really losing it. He'd forgotten to disable the coms. "Yea, 25000 he doesn't make it back." Arttu shut them off from his side.
Arttu began carefully. He didn't know the area well, but prolonged scouting was likely to tip off Jeksis so it couldn't be risked. He would just have to accept going in blind and hope for the best. He made his way east, choosing to approach from the west where there was no wall, through the trees of this dense forest.
