"Well now I'll never know, now will I?"
He grins as he sips the Cola.

Stephenson tapped his can against Ite's "True that."
-
"Well now what?"
-
Edited by Ex PI: 7/16/2015 5:10:39 PMThe detective stands and primes his revolver before sliding it into his shoulder holster. "Well, I took a job to check out Sector-2. Figured I'd bring you along for the ride. There's all sorts of stuff out there, and plenty of data for people like you to grab up. As for me, it gets me a few more good contacts. Did I mention that I need a partner for my little business?"
-
"Well I do suppose that's just a convoluted way of saying 'Do you want to join?'." I get up and face Stephenson, with my hand extended. "Why not?"
-
Stephenson returns the handshake. "Sounds good, buddy. Never caught your name, by the way."
-
"I myself, am Ite. You?"
-
"JM Stephenson, Private Detective and Investigator." Stephenson turns and grapples onto a nearby L-train line, before grabbing the hacker. The duo are suddenly pulled up and onto the roof of a passing train.
-
"WELL THEN! A LITTLE WARNING MIGHT BE NICE!"
-
The detective grins manically. "Sorry! These things happen!"
-
"Well, TO SECTOR 2!"
-
"We're already there. The building's up ahead."
-
"Well.. Uh... Shush. How are we doing this? Through the window... The roof... The back door..."
-
"I vote front. The terminal for this job's on the first floor. Easy in, easy out."
-
Edited by Frog: 7/16/2015 7:21:20 PM"I go in, see what's on the computer, and you cover me with your gun. I'll try to protect myself with this." I pull a T29-Quantum from my pocket.
-
Stephenson breaks to the left, and one of the mutants jerks its head up and roars, racing toward the detective. Stephenson point-blanks it and the two that follow, drawing the rest of the creatures away from the terminal so Ite can do his work.
-
"What do we need to know?" I begin typing on the keyboard at blinding speed.
-
Stephenson keeps shooting as more mutants approach. "Everything, including local defense codes. The contact will pay us both well for it."
-
I plug in a USB, do a bit more typing, and shoot a mutant through his skull. "I need a bit more time."
-
"Gotcha!"
-
"Annnnnnnd... We're good! Go!" I smash the terminal after grabbing the USB, and begin running out of the building.
-
Stephenson pauses to hurl an incendiary grenade through the door, then dashes away as the abandoned building burns behind the duo. Soon, they are out of Sector-2 and, after an episode of L-surfing, reach the drop-off point for the data.
-
"Well, not too bad for someone with a hole in their hand, wouldn't you say?"
-
[To Ite] Jack has accepted your data. You will now receive a randomly selected item from the Black Market in 3... 2... 1... Congratulations! You have received a x100 Data Chip Case! Become an ever more powerful Hacker with this jackpot of data! It has been warped into your inventory.
-
"I CAN DO EVERYTHING!"
-
Stephenson pats Ite on the shoulder. "No, not at all. In fact, that was great work. I think there's a clinic close to the office, but we need to do the transfer for this job first. After that, we get our gear, and we get our money, and we get your arms fixed up on top of it."
