Stephenson and Ite leap from the train a few miles from the quarantine fence surrounding Sector-2, which has been long since abandoned.
English
-
[To Both] Beyond the fencing, which may or may not be electrified, the husk of an abandoned city: Decrepit skyscrapers reach jaggedly towards the sky, overgrown with lush plant life; the smaller buildings below them are even more infested with flora, almost like a jungle; crows flutter about from behind the architecture, flustered by something. You hear an almost inhuman howl-- or a screech?-- in the far distance, inside of the city. You feel a pang of dread thinking about what may lie inside of this city, and wether or not Jack will accept it.
-
I follow Stephenson, since he has a plan, it seems.
-
Stephenson shoots a hole in the fence, then pulls the rusted links apart, ushering Ite through.
-
[To Stephenson] Sparks flurry out of the fence as you shoot it, but while Ite crawls through, he is not electrocuted. You must have severed the electrical connection.
-
Stephenson ducks through the fence after Ite and locks in his Gargoyle kit. As the thermal scan pans through the area, a few more shrieks are heard.
-
[To Stephenson] The thermal scanner picks up some things, but are too far away to properly speculate. You must travel further.
-
Stephenson motions for Ite to draw his weapon. "Alright, so the building we need to survey for this job is that big one a block down, with the barbed wire. Come on!" The duo advance quickly down the abandoned street.
-
[To Both] You grow nearer to the building. From the shattered windows of the structure, crows flutter out as a wicked growl echoes from inside the place. Be cautious.
-
((We're inside fighting muties right now))
-
[To Both] The mutants are grey-skinned husks of their own humanity, their muscles almost non-existent, their eyes glowing yellow, their hair stringy, and their mouths snapping with sharp teeth. They screech grotesquely at you as they leap into each attack with their clawed hands flailing.
-
Stephenson engages his DeWitt's flechette mode and literally shreds the monsters as Ite finishes his download. "Hurry it up, man!"
-
Stephenson kicks open the door of the building and sweeps the area with his pistol before moving further inside. Strange figures can be seen hunched on the floor, and in the center of the room was a large terminal. Stephenson pointed the large computer out to Ite. "That's our target."
