The new patch details have been released. People are freaking out because yeah, I can agree with some people there are features on it that are making certain weapons a lot less powerful than they currently were. Thorn is taking a direct hit, Ice Breaker loses a couple seconds of recharge, and WPR are finally being hit with a nerf. I think Gjallarhorn needed somewhat of a nerf, to be honest. I've seen so many cases where people were like "Oh you don't have one? Oh. Shit. Sorry. Can't do Hard Crota with us. " or the worse case is "Oh you have a Dragons Breath? You can't do crota you dumb ass. "
I think this will finally change the popularity for it somewhat and show more love to the other exotic Heavies. Yes, Gjallarhorn will still be powerful as it will still have WPR and still hit heavily, but maybe, just...maybe, people will start to use other exotic Heavies. Know how long it's been since I've seen someone with Thunderlord, or even Dragon's Breath? (although DB has it's own..problems. )
The Thorn debuff will probably bug people thinking "Hey! I worked hard for this, and now you downgrade it and make my TOS runs even harder! " well, no. I think they make it more balanced. So the entire teams now will not be flooded with pure Thorn's, (Don't start a LOW or Dregs Promise flood. Please. )
The Black hammer one with white nail bugs me, Black Hammer did not deserve a debuff it was fine where it was. Also, on the topic of snipers. Ice Breaker. The Debuff. One of my favorite weapons and you make it even harder to wait for rounds for it. Could you at least be nice to us, Bungie, and extent the magazine to 10 or something to balance it slightly? Although just an idea.
I hope Invective doesn't take too much of a hard hit with the shot gun debuffs/buffs. I love invective where it is right now. I think the weapons perfect. It doesn't need change. It's not overly powered, and it's amazing in PVE, raids. You name it.
(I feel I might get crucified by the destiny community for saying some things here. But as I continue, this is my opinion I wanted to share. ).
I think The No Land Beyond upgrade was smart, as the weapon needed a boost or such. As it was something people just pitched for shards.
Although, this is my opinion. Every one. If anyone would like to add on to the conversation go ahead. Hopefully Bungie notices some things people dislike, and try and change it. ^-^

I like the patch if only to make the guns more different. I agree with your remarks except the 10 mag ice breaker. That would be redic. I did think the 8 seconds from 5 was pretty harsh tho
