Really? The black hammer has unlimited amount and shreds most bosses.
It replaced galley as the aethon slayer, that alone should give you a idea of why it got a need just like galley.

Eh? We still use Voc/icebreaker/ corrective measure,...worked great 130 times so far.

Yeah CM is awesome. But yeah Black hammer and ice breaker got needed cuz they were slaying bosses too quickly.

To make newer weapons shine. What is the point of create new weapons if people are just going to use the older ones.

Because with each dlc, the weapons got worse. How is it vog still puts out the best weapons a year later?

Most vanilla weapons are top notch. Which they also addressed in the update. These weapon have no trade off, which is a major problem, in Bungie's eyes.
