Bungie says they won't do match making because random groups can't handle the harder game modes. They point us to Destiny LFG and places like it. People go on there and request players with Ghorn. Bungie then loses it's mind.

Exactly, they created the problem themselves. Although I can understand no matchmaking, because raids with randoms without mic is very hard.
