If you're one of those, "I'm requiring Gjallerhorn now," guys, just stop.
Lemme make this real simple: Bungie nerfs the Gjallerhorn because Raid groups were too stubborn about who can and can't join their games, basically who has Gjallerhorn and who doesn't.
The scummy part of this community goes, "Durr hurr, I'm gonna require Gjallerhorn even more now to teach Bungie a lesson!"

I have a very simple solution: [b][u]Step 1[/u]: Don't nerf Gjallarhorn. [u]Step 2:[/u] Have Xur sell Gjallarhorn a few times so more people can have it.[/b] Problem solved. Nerfing the weapon is just going to make things worse.

It's about preparing for the new grind. Taken king will have new more powerful weapons. XUR will sell GHORN. NOT ENOUGH VAULT SPACE anyway to hold exotics and raid weapons.

No......bungie should give us decent matchmaking across the board like it should have been from the start. Is it really such a huge surprise that if you make one weapon do twice the damage, that people want their teammates to have it? This nerf is only going to increase the number of groups requiring certain weapons & max level for any activities.

Yes the more people dig their heels in the more it gets nerfed until there is nothing left to nerf. People will then want groups with only x or y. Then that gets the same treatment and the cycle continues till there's no better weapon. Works for me. Burn it all down :-)

If Bungie wanted to do something about people not getting into raids, they should have added matchmaking, problem solved That wasn't the reason, they nerfed it because Boss encounters where not lasting long enough, same reason Hammer got nerfed -
They didn't nerf it because people were requiring Ghorns, they nerfed it cause people were steam rolling through their game and used the opportunity to nerf it while placing blame on those elitist. The perfect opportunity to curb dmg while escaping the tsunami of hate...

Their reasoning for nerf, and why they actually will be nerfing Ghorn are two different things. Lfg was just something they could cite, that a portion of players could relate to. The nerf coming is due to us making short work of the "hardest" content they can throw at us. If you use lfg to try and jump in at specific checkpoints, expect the guy with said checkpoint to pick and choose who to play with. It wouldn't be an issue if folks formed their own fireteams, or joined a clan. If it is your fireteam, you get to do the screening.

It won't last. This is just reactionary bs. Happens all of the time. Once the changes go live people will get use to it. Then when the next change happens it will start all over again.

The Gjallarhorn nerf is going to backfire horribly. The people who feel they [i]need[/i] Gjallys to get through endgame activities will now be even more stingy with allowing those in that don't have one. No longer can one person with Gjally cover the damage output of another without it, and thus it will become a requirement for everyone in the fireteam. The nerf that they thought would diminish its exclusivity is actually going to promote [i]more[/i] elitism. Repost this everywhere you can so bungie understands why when the patch drops people become even more frustrated and excluded from raids and other things.

8 RepliesKnow what's funny? How bungie's said they won't help us find a group to play and that's it's part of the challenge They nerf gally because of lfg. If they wanted they could add lfg to their game but no, they decide to -blam!- all and screw everyone over.

I know it's not going to change much in a wide scale of things but I'm not going to be using my gjallarhorn any more but one person lowering the amount of use and abuse might help
