Dear Bungie,
I am very pleased with 95% of this update. I am beyond happy to finally see exotic hand cannons and OP shotgun perks put in their place. Auto rifles being useful again makes me excited for the future diversity of weapons. However, as a player who has been grinding ever since The Dark Below launched for a Black Hammer, this particular nerf concerns me GREATLY. Black Hammer is one of the most unique and satisfying guns in Destiny. And it is the only Crota's End weapon that really stands out from the rest. (Compare to the many borderline overpowered guns from the Vault.) I personally believe that the strengths of the White Nail perk are indeed situational, as the only place where infinite ammo is easily attainable is when fighting large, slow-moving bosses with large critical spots. Even then, the only crime it would seem Black Hammer has committed during these situational engagements is reducing the tedious nature of collecting ammo to continue fighting. What I suggest is, maybe, that the problem lie not with the sniper, but in the nature of these bosses. Maybe the most efficient way to fight bosses shouldn't be shooting them in the head with snipers repeatedly until they die. Whatever the case, I strongly believe that the White Nail perk should be left as is. Perhaps we could come to a compromise somewhere else, such as lowering the reserve ammo size, thus punishing the user more strongly for missing a shot. Or perhaps Perfect Balance should be removed from this weapon to make repeated, accurate shots more difficult. As an alternative idea, perhaps most bosses should be much harder to stun, thus preventing infinite stun-locking with Black Hammer. Whatever the solution may be, I humbly ask Bungie to please, please, reconsider their planned adjustment to this weapon. It is one of the most satisfying to use correctly, and many people (myself included) are still trying to attain this weapon.
Sincerely, Jett-and many others
