I read an article on Yahoo a few minutes ago, about a mother of a child with Down syndrome who "cried" after a Starbucks Barista says "I was retarded" while making a mistake on the mother's order.
In the end, she planned on taking her child to Starbucks with the gift-card from Starbucks after her complaint to show the world about Downs Syndrome...
Good job lady, you accomplished to earn free money by using your daughter as a excuse to make complaints!
Opinions?
Edit: Apologies here's the link to the article

As a guy that has no children with Down's syndrome, I'd say I'm in the perfect position to say what someone should and shouldn't be offended by
-
It is reasonable, also she didn't ask for a gift card, using retarded as a derogatory term is unnecessary and is unprofessional. Someone shouldn't use another's issues and the fact that people who have mental disabilities exist as an insult regardless of who it is directed towards.
-
If she's offended by the word retarded she shouldn't have had a retarded kid. Problem solved.
-
That's society for ya. You can't say ANYTHING these days without someone getting sand in their vagina.
-
I remember when they banned the "R" word when I was in school
-
lol my dad says retarded is offensive too. I don't really care though
-
Next there gonna sue the employee. Dammit society.
-
I know how im getting free gift cards now.
-
They're just for our amusement who cares
-
I love how everyone rises up against this mother, but they're cool with a couple of Lesbos getting 135,000 from a bakery for being offended.

Edited by Nobody: 7/19/2015 4:46:54 AMHonestly I would be more offended if someone called me handicapped. While I get that language is dynamic and evolves as time goes on to me the word retard does not mean someone who is disabled it means someone who did/does something stupid. The only reason I try to stay away from using the word retard is because I know that it does offend others and that is not my intent.

Edited by Legend To None: 7/19/2015 4:22:09 PMWow what a bitch. People who over-react about problems because they know someone with that problem is annoying as hell. "No my brother has that, it's not funny." Or "The confederate flag symbolizes the lynching and slavery of -blam!-!"
-
That's something she's just gotta learn to deal with. I myself am guilty of letting it slip out now and again.
-
Everything I read on Yahoo is absolutely retarded. Especially the comments.

Well, the employee was wrong to say that. Regardless how retarded the parent was.

Don't be a retard Why be a King When you can be a Frog

Edited by tjustie: 7/19/2015 2:30:33 AMThat's innapropriate for the Starbucks employee to say. The employee is in the wrong. Also, a link would be nice.

Either extremely smart and cruel way or free shit. Or she wen't full retard
you never go full retard
-
That's retarded.

Edited by Garen Sol: 7/19/2015 3:29:34 AMIt's funny because years ago you could say "I'm a retard" or "don't treat me like a retard" without getting shit from it. There's even an episode in twilight zone that clearly says it. But now everything is over sensitized. Honestly I'm okay with being called anything as long as I know it's a joke.

PC is the end of free speech
