My very own list of Destiny's pros and cons

My own very own list of pros and cons in Destiny: Let's start on the good stuff, shall we? Pros: Beautiful color rich maps: (PVE) Good zone variety (PVE) Solid graphics (It gives most of the game assets a weighty/worn/believable feel rather than just flat textures and low quality "cardboard" looking scenery) Great music score: It even eclipses the action on screen at times! Satisfying weapon sounds Reasonably good feeling controls: The only thing missing here is the option to disable auto aim/aim assist. Now moving on to the bad stuff: Cons: Nonexistent Customer Support: They even have a damn zoo of error codes! Good luck finding what the ham sandwich they mean though or better yet how to solve them. You are on your own. RNG loot: Wacky RNG obsessed rewards system doesn't give a flying f uck how skillful or helpful you were to your fellow guardians both in the fight against darkness and on the fires of the Crucible, Iron BullS#it or TryHards of Osiris modes. Very Limited Vault Space: Bungie refocused its game around getting a legendary and exotic assortment of weapons and armor, Why cant We fit them all in the stupid vault! Way too many currencies: Seriously! Glimmer, 25,000 cap when trivial stuff can cost half that. Marks... Divided between vanguard and crucible and both capped to just 200 per week (and lost if you are already at the 200 cap) Motes of light, Etheric light, Exotic Shards, Radiant and ascendant variants of shards and energy the list goes on. All those are more or less currency which is odd coming from a supposedly organized/centralized place like the Guardian's Tower. They mostly serve as the gatekeeper barrier to curb player progress into a predictable, time consuming slow grind. No optional matchmaking for raids and other high level activities Bungie's lazy/stingy attitude towards including this accounts for the fact that a big chunk of the player base is unable to access some of the game's best content unless they cave in and use third party LFG sites (Complete with their discriminatory practices) Thanks Bungie! /s Brain dead A.I.: They can only hide or charge and can't patrol at all beyond a very limited area where they spawn. (Limiting any sort of surprise encounters) they only pose a threat because the game throws many groups of them at the player and of course their ridiculously high damage and shields. Non-dynamic story cutcenes: Has anyone besides me noticed how static these are? They ALWAYS involve one or two characters leisurely walking and talking or simply standing and talking! No action scenes (Unless you consider the reef's one where queen's ships go after you to issue a speeding/tresspasing ticket!) , no fleshing out motives for anyone, no plot twists and no build up to the "climax" either. In short they seem too out of place for such a high budget game. Horde mode/point defense based gameplay mechanics: (PVE) Everything in the game consist of killing waves of enemies while waiting for Dinkle-bot to get his freak on with some old machinery. (That perv will get you killed one of these days!) Bullet sponge based bosses: Come on! EVERY single boss in the game is a hulking slow version of the same enemies we face "Ad nauseam" the only thing that makes them hard is a stupidly big HP bar, some very generous shields and stupidly high damage weapons! They move slow and often can't even stray far from their enclosed areas. Boss encounter design can't get any more lazy than this. Recycled content: This one in particular is the most egregious one on the PVE side. If you don't need to make new maps and are instead using the same ones from the base game please make a TON of missions and get really creative with the reasons for them and their overall benefit to the story. same with weapons, changing the color, perks and descriptions of a weapon doesn't make a new weapon from an old one This became especially obvious when they passed recolored versions of the very distinctive The Dark Below weapons as NEW House of Wolves weapons... lame. Also before I forget, why every single material you are told to get from enemies on "patrols" looks like a white triangle? Lazy! Lousy PVP: God why bother copying halo if they would not even attempt to improve upon it! Poor balancing issues, lag-switching cheaters, maps that are not designed for specific modes and thus suck in those and COD's peer to peer infrastructure with none of the benefits but all the cons/vulnerabilities. Ugh! Does bungie really expect us to fork $40 dollars for more of the same?
