If a gun can't shoot endlessly then it's useless? So all other guns right now besides black hammer are useless?

Without White Nail there are far better options for every single encounter. So yes, Black Hammer without infinite ammo is useless because that's the only thing that sets it apart.

Absolutely not, but when that is the only quality that it has that sets it apart from other high impact snipers, it made it a sought after weapon. What's the point in having it when the nerf hits? It's got a slow RoF. The instant reload thing isn't a big deal considering there are several perks on myriad pieces of equipment and weapons that speed reload times exponentially. I've got an LDR that will hold more ammo, has a faster RoF, and Spray and Play. I can fire my entire mag and reload in the time that it takes you to fire your 3 rounds. So without the unlimited ammo thing, what's the point to Black Hammer?

Ok...good point, no. But what this nerf does is take away the one thing that made it a very special and incredible weapon. Now it just becomes a sniper with instant reload while you quickly burn away your ammo. It wasn't being abused. There weren't any Black Hammer only posts on LFG....this nerf just seems unneeded.

Name another sniper that has 18 bullet magazine? It is STILL special, it just isn't an exotic level legendary.

Having a large magazine is nice. Big deal. I like the idea of Bungie only nerfing the magazine size and keeping the white nail perk as is. It would place even more pressure on getting precision shots. That would balance out the endless sniping chance you can get going with BH. Imagine only a 9 shot reserve. 12 total rounds. Then its more balanced and rewards the very good snipers.

Meh, that is not a reason to nerf it. Its not like BH is a Legendary you can get anywhere.

Yes it is. It is significantly superior to other legendary snipers, and doesn't actually require a trade off. Really, I think the idea should return in a new exotic sniper, although it should probably be a lower impact sniper.

Yeah, sigh, it took me so long to get it too. I cleared Crota on normal over 50 times before I got my one and only Black Hammer. I even deleted and restarted my Hunter and Titan to do more raids one week to increase my chances..yeah..didn't help get it quicker. Oh well.

Although, it makes me think that since they're nerfing Blackhammer - it may be because it's going to still be relevant come the TTK release.... I wonder if Bungie tipped their hand that year one guns is still going to be viable.
