The Black Hammer was an illusive weapon for me. Week in, week out, I would play Crota, hoping that on day I would get this fabled weapon.
But even I can understand its nerf. It turned boss encounters into a joke, and reinforced a severely passive style of play. It'll still be a good sniper just not as powerful.

A high impact sniper with the ability to refill magazine if you hit all 3 precision hits? That's an amazing sniper.

Might as well have a speed reload sniper that can hold more in the mag. Especially now that we can reroll snipers.

Black Hammer can spec for a faster reload, plus it has a higher impact than Icebreaker.

Well that's it. Black Hammer rewards skilled play with more rounds. I am awful at sniping, like literally the worst in the world, but based on its own merits its a good sniper, nerf or no nerf. I'll still be an amazing sniper for bosses. If you don't think so, then that's your opinion. Use what you feel comfortable with.

See thats what im sayin even a skilled player will sometimes miss a shot because of adds.. if the game is going to reward you with for doing such a feat then you should have a full mag for doing so... not go though your clip thats retarded if anythjng just take away the white nail perk and give the gun 5rounds.. because the reward is not worth the skill it takes.. black hammer will be replaced just like bungie wanted

Black Hammer isn't the best for everyday sniping. You'll be better with something like Her Benevolence or Praedyths Revenge, but Black Hammer provides the highest potential DPS on bosses for a sniper, and combined with large hitboxes, it can be devastating. True if you miss shots, Black Hammer won't reward you, but it encourages you to land these shots, and on bosses, this is pretty easy. I am not saying BH is or will be the best sniper in the game, I'm saying it'll be a good sniper.

No its not. White nail is the only saving grace of Black Hammer. Otherwise it's a crappy gun.
