I'm sure he is referring to game raid mechanics not gore. Though it is bad parenting for young teens and preteens to be playing titles such as COD series. I have personally met more rude, attention seeking, and loud kids that play COD like games that their "loving" parent gave them for Christmas than those that play pokemon and nonviolent platform/puzzle games. There are a few exceptions but it is very small fraction.
