I travel to the Oasis, and sit by a waterfall to rest and recover.
"Strange how this place is abandoned", I say to myself.

"Oh, it's far from abandoned." a strikingly wise voice calls out from behind you. You turn to see an elderly man, leaning on a wooden walking stick, standing upon the sandy shore of the beautiful river, watching you with warm eyes and a polite smile. He has lengthy grayish-white beard that hangs down to his belly. "I and a lot of other folks like me tend to live here, and out of the polluted Centras. Here, the air is clear and fresh, and it is lush and colorful, instead of metallic and monotone. Do you like it here son?"
-
I know of these people in the Oasis. Corruption and Crime doesn't exist here. Like the White City, but here lies true peace. I make the decision to unmask myself. I remove my hood and press a button that fold my mask in. "Yes sir...I came here, well honestly I don't know why I came here. I know that right now, I feel like I'm lost- lost in this vast city. I don't know my purpose anymore- stopping crime and corruption, helping others...it's driven me on a path I can never turn away from, but no one else will do this, so I make it my duty, and my responsibility," I say in a serious yet gloomy voice.
-
The man nods in understanding, his smile dropping. "Mm. A crime-fighter, are you? Come to retire? I respect that. Maybe you can make those blasted streets know peace."
-
"...but if I leave, the people will suffer. The police aren't human like us, they don't reason. They're programmed and they...they'll kill children if they see them as a threat," I say unleashing a small kinetic burst that shakes the trees and ground around us. "I apologize..." I say in shame. "I just want to protect my city."
-
The man shifts a bit at the kinetic wave, but he stands firmly after. He gives you a solid stare. "I would understand that. But I know there are more like you out in the city that will hold down the fort while you're gone, so there is no need to stress about it."
-
"But these others...I've seen them, worked with them. They deliver justice the same way as these droids- through murder. I believe in second chances....and I know that cross the line, won't me any better than them." "I have killed before I said. When my family or friends are in trouble, my powers take over." "...What should I do?" I ask, looking at my reflection at the water.
-
"I was never very sure how to change one's opinions or methods. I was never a teacher. But I suggest you hold on to your pacifical ways to fighting crime. There's really no good in killing."
-
I clasp my hands in a prayer stance and perform a polite bow. "Thank you....I never got your name," I said with confusion.
-
The man shakily bows back. "Oh, you don't need my name... I'm just another drop of water falling down the Universal Waterfall and into the Pool of Death." the man then starts to shamble away back into the Oasis jungle slowly as he props himself with his cane.
-
I put my mask back on, and throw my hood on. Next stop, Centra.
