backwards compatibility yes, but only with a select few games. At launch i believe it is only 22 titles that will be supported. The developers have to make changes in their games to make it work. besides PSnow provides the same capability with over 100 plus ps3 games, it is subscription or rental based though

ahh didn't know until now and googled it. I really doubt the feature is going to change things as far as the consoles go though. Like someone said below it is just a gimmick all the really matters is the new games coming out.

Yeah. I don't think it's game changing at all. But still it's petty cool. And the best part is if you already own the game you don't have to pay for it again. It's all included with the live subscription. I hate console wars btw. They're stupid.

PS3 had backwards compatibility and since nobody used it they scraped it in all their new models. Don't act as if it will change the console war in some way because it won't.

Considering the PS2 had pretty much the best games of all time and it still wasn't used. Xbox one backwards compatibility will barely be used at all HAHAHAHAHAH

If you have the old games then you probably have the old console...so whats the point in backwards compatibility. My ps2 played ps1 games but i was like "why would i want to play an old game when i have new ones that are better in every single way?" [spoiler]plus it played dvd's![/spoiler]

Whatever the case im happy that people are happy a company is doing everything they can to "suck up" to all the people they pissed off 2yrs ago. However ive never personally been interested in the backwards compatible stuff so it intrigues me when gamers of the 21st century care about that.
