Hello there again Guardians,
Overseer_Mirak back to go more in depth withna couple of my suggestions from earlier this week (linked above). First up...
Armory Crafting - I've logged just under 12 days in-game and I don't play as often as most, but I'm sitting on about 500 weapon parts, 1500 sapphire wire (hunter armor mats), and several full stacks of the harvest mats. The weapon craft system I suggested, would make use of all of those and potentially more. So first, let's break down weapons and armor in to pieces.
Weapons can be broken down into, Barrel, Sight Rail, Firing Assembly, Grip, Magwell, and Buttstock
Armor similarly can be broken down into, Plating, Underarmor, Utility, and Trophy
Each part would have a myriad of schematics stored either in the "Toolbox" I mentioned earlier, or in a database inside our Ghost. These schematics would adhere to the same rarity levels as their fully crafted state, (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, and Exotic) as such some schematics are harder to come by than others. Exotic schematics operate a bit differently though. With all other rarities, once you've acquired a schematic, it's permanent, all you'd need is the necessary materials. With Exotics, however, the schematic is a single-use-item.
For example, [armory]Patience and Time[/armory], is an Exotic, that allows the wielder to cloak, while looking down it's sights. If broken down, the scope with ghillie mesh, would be the piece that makes this sniper an Exotic weapon, requiring a rare drop that can only be found in the Cosmodrome the schematic, once crafted the Exotic schematic becomes corrupted and rendered unusable, but this Guardian now has an exotic scope around which they can build a sniper rifle that fits their play-style. Less rare schematics like the legendary [armory]Third Eye[/armory] would have limited use, while the more common [armory]Lightweight[/armory] or [armory]Perfect Balance[/armory] would need to be grouped with two other variants in order to fill a slot while crafting. More nuance may be required, going forward. But armor would work similarly with the Scarab of [armory]Khepri's Sting[/armory] or the Visor of [armory]Celestial Nighthawk[/armory].
If you have any input, please feel free to leave a response below. I'll be posting more about the other suggestions I made over the next few days. So be on the look out. I really love this game and want to see more from it.
Stay safe out there Guardians.
