You suddenly hear a sharp blast from behind you, and a wave of heat blows over you. You look behind you to see smoke billowing from an energy cannon on the mech's sides, and red fire igniting ferns you passed seconds ago. The fire is quickly stomped out by the mech's gargantuan toe-foot as it passes over it to pursue you.

You ascend the tree branches, hoisting Ex Nihilo in one arm. The mech doesn't seem to care about you, and continues to lumber on after the rest of the team. But then, in a bout of steam, one of the pods on the mech's sides slides open, and a smaller mechanical figure leaps out of it, a droid. After it lands on the ground, it sprints blindingly fast toward the tree you sit in, carrying two energy swords in its hands. [b][i]Silent Mantis![/i][/b]

As Silent Mantis scales the tree trunk, the lightning pulses onto her body, and she is buffered. She struggles against the arcs of lightning for a small moment, but then she starts to slowly continue climbing under the pressure of the heavy electricity. She doesn't seem to be sparking or disabled, just slowed.
