[b]Etana turns around holding the kid facing the mech that has been following them for a while. There is a gun to the kids head showing that he will kill him.There is no one else in the mechs sight but Etana and the kid.[/b]

The kid whimpers, tears streaming down his face. "Please, no..." The mech suddenly struts its legs out in front of it to drift along the ferns to a halt, kicking shredded bits of dirt and foliage up in front of it. It balances itself, and stands in silence, staring with tiny red ocular sensors along its snout. It does not fire any of its cannons. It knows what you are doing. Suddenly, with a hiss, one of the pods on its back slides open, steam billowing out from its opening. A male figure rises from the steam, and drops out of the pod and onto the ground with a metallic [i]clank![/i]. It raises its horned, silvery head to glare at you with menacing red eyes. It is covered in metal and artificial tendons, and a rifle and a shotgun are strapped to its sides and back. It's another droid, but one unlike Silent Mantis, yet their complexity is similar. "We have a cliche going on here." it says in a dark, gravely voice more menacing than its eyes, slowly striding toward you, stepping past the mech. "But I would guess cliches would be a little acceptable in the heat of a chase."

[b]Etana stares at this new figure with stone cold eyes still holding the kid. He secretly scans the figure to find any sign of weakness.[/b]

It seems to have the same structure, ligaments and armor as the mech, and it has strange energy projection devices on its forearms, but they don't seem to activate offensively.

[b]Katt drops down onto the large mech and attempts to rip open a panel straining her cybernetic arms[/b]

The droid approaching Etana turns its head quickly to glare at you as you attempt to sabotage the mech, and whips out the rifle on its hip with one hand and aims it at you. It fires two bullets, one into your chest, the other into your right shoulder. You fall off of the hulking walker, dazed as blood gushes from your wounds. You land heavily among the ferns.

[b]Katt reaches into her jacket and draws her pistol then proceeding to fire several rounds into the droid[/b]

The rounds merely bounce off of its armor. It raises the rifle again, aiming for your head. It fires, but luckily enough, your hand aiming the Messenger blocks the way to your face, and the bullet enters your palm, breaking the grip of the pistol. Blood spills out of your hand.
