Dude Halo 5 & then Tom Clancy The Division those 2 games will take up destiny time.

if TTK turns out to be a sub-standard DLC, with as much money as i have spent on this game, (as i'm sure everybody else has.) then yes. i believe it would totally be worth dropping the controller for good. but "overhyped" might not be the best word to use. hype is just your opinion... you can hype up the DLC in your own head if you're that excited about it, and then when it shows up you'll be disappointed. if you're already bored of the new house of wolves content maybe destiny isn't the game for you. house of wolves has amazing replay value, between the prison of elders, the trials of osiris, and the L28 dragon playlist? i mean you shouldn't have any problem finding plenty of stuff to do. but i know how you feel- i too am already considering the thought of quitting destiny... i've been stiffed by the "RNG" in this game so many times i should start charging money. people say "put in the time & you'll find it" and to this i say "BULL!" i've played ALL day EVERY day since the day i BOUGHT destiny! shoot! im playing destiny RIGHT NOW! if i could spend twenty dollars and buy a gjallarhorn- i would do it- just to save myself the flipping headaches. honestly, i swear outright, if i don't find a Gjallarhorn within the next month before TTK comes out, and i miss my [b]ONE AND ONLY CHANCE[/b] to get the year 1 emblem- because nobody wants to help me fight skolas- because i don't have a gjally...? then i'm just going to quit destiny. bungie says they are proud of their community but i cant find a single person to help me... not to mention any time i help somebody else- like with nightfall or prison of elders, THEY get MY gjallarhorn. not just "A" gjallarhorn... but "MY" gjallarhorn. everytime i get the most kills, the game wants to give away a gjally, but it never gives it to me even though i'm the one who earned it and rightfully deserves it. bungie if you read this you know what im talking about. stop giving away gjallarhorns to people who play terribly and can barely scrape together 25 kills in a nightfall. it makes me want to bash my ps3 into tiny pieces using my controller.

With nearly 40 *days* playtime, over 900 hours, do you *really* feel jilted? I'm just curious, it seems like nearly all the 'd3stinee sux' threads are authored by people with considerable playtime invested. It's normal to tire of games now and again. For example, after Crotas end dropped (a legit disappointment, still enjoyed myself) I didn't play for nearly 3 months, waiting for House of Wolves. HOW dropped and I'm hooked again, and it even looks like I won't burn out before TTK drops. GG guardian

A lot of people said that for TDB and more for HoW; but even with the continued lackluster content, I guarantee most still play. Yes HoW was a bit better than TDB (which honestly wasn't hard to do because of how lacking TDB was) but wasn't spectacular by any means. Personally,I could care less about TTK and any future this game may or may not have and would rather wait to see what those that bumrush the content have to say...... But my better half saw the trailer for TTK and, even after I explained the ridiculousness behind the pricing and everything else, her response was "ooh now I have to start leveling my Hunter" And I was just thinking .. well fk, that means I'll have to get it now -_-

Depends on your criteria for "failing", it's probably already a success in that tons of people have already made the decision to buy it, whether or not it's good. Even those who are "holding out" to see how good it is will buy it in the first week before there's enough time fully realize the extent of the expansion. I would say ttk is already too big, or too hyped to fail.

If I am unable to upgrade my year 1 weapons and armour to the new max level, then I'm gone. I have not pre-ordered TTK because of this one issue. I don't care if no RPG does what I require Destiny to do. Destiny is the first, and only, of its kind. It's a collecting game, similar to Pokemon. It's an FPS, very similar to Halo. Some poeple throw other genres in there to, feel free, those are the two that matter to me. So, in order for TTK to be a success in my book, I must be able to upgrade all year one weapons and armour to max level. I also need increased vault space (seperate the Reef and Tower vaults, voila! Double the vault space!) to collect 'em all. When Destiny 2 comes out, my requirement will not change, I will expect the same things that I have required here. I didn't create this monster, Bungie did. Now they must live with it. If they can't figure out what type of game they have (an FPS collecting game) by the time they release TTK, I will be done with Bungievision.

These Forums aren't a good place to get an answer for this kind of thing, just to let you know. Only about 20% of Destiny's active playerbase uses these forums and for the most part, about 18/20% of the forum-goers are toxic assholes who bash on Destiny and it's players despite them playing it themselves. Anyway, for my answer - yes & no. I will still play Destiny even if TTK isn't all it's made out to be. But I probably don't buy any future content. The Dark Below was a pretty large disappointment, and even Bungie admitted that - but Bungie definitely did a lot better with House of Wolves, they gave us fresh content, made things exciting in the beginning and it definitely was better - it just didn't have quite the content needed to be replayable for as long as even Dark Below was. The Taken King, though. Bungie has had several interviews with several sources in which they openly admitted they even they know they could've done a lot better in a lot of areas with Destiny, and that they hear the Community (the Forum-goers) loud and clear when it comes to the things they screw up on. I personally feel like Taken King will do very well, and I do think it will attract a lot of the playerbase that is on vacation back.
