First off that example did not compare to Destiny at all. And second, it's not getting rid of weapons, it's coming across more powerful weapons. You will still be able to use your old ones if you want to, but stronger ones will be available. This sort of like borderlands. You find better weapons as you go up the story/activities.

If this game was like borderlands this discussion wouldn't even exist because you could get any weapon in that game at the max level. We wouldn't be leaving anything behind we would just have to work to get it to drop again.
