So you agree, it's definitively not an MMO, not MMO-lite, not even MMO-esque.
To me, it's a shooter first and foremost with some minor character customization features by way of an addictive random loot system.

Oh, definitely. I didn't mean for that to come off as contradicting you. I was just pointing out that crafting, in depth story, level progression, gear customization, etc. are not features of an MMO. It seems like a lot of people on this forum talk about MMO as a genre when all it is is a description of the multiplayer capabilities. They forget that WoW (the most often cited example) is an RPG that also happens to be MMO.
