I agree, but at the same time it seems rather stupid to not only have a new way to upgrade weapons/armor, but a bunch of new weapons a few months before ttk. Pointless grinding for gear that will be useless is somewhat depressing, just a hamster wheel to keep people playing until ttk....

That is the point though. Keep people playing and keep them dumping hour into the game.
