super important note before I get a lot of shit: take number 3 as a joke, even I had a hard time deciding wether it's actually a crutch or a good strategy.
So, what do you guys think?
Edit: I'm talking both on PVP and PVE. some LFG's require a self res warlock for PoE, skolas, nightfall...
I'm just saying, if you need it to succeed, it's a crutch. But if you can do well and succeed without it- it's a preference and strategy. :D
Edit 2: here's something I wrote not so long ago on another post. Just for the laughs.
Warlock: I have the ability of self-resurrection! I can come back from the dead!
Hunter: i have the ability to infuse a simple combat knife with unlimited power of thunder!
Titan: I iz maked bubel lol
-
I use radiant skin with max armor and the ram. Don't need self rez if you don't die anyway
-
If its a full fireteam using self-rez, than yes. There's nothing more annoying than killing all three of them then having to kill them again. Though having that one self-rez I think is totally fair, people get cocky at the end of a round so popping up and killing everyone is interesting.
-
21% ATM are really butthurt.
-
Hunters have invis, instant kill one shots in pvp and bladedancer on my screen can take 2 or 3 clips before they die. Oh yeah also blink and arc bolt nades. Titans have fist of hav, and a bubble. bad side for them are the nades they lack also no blink Warlocks have firebolt nades, self res over shield melee, blink. Bad thing for self res locks has to be the glide they made really slow in the air and easy target. So each class has a good and bad side.
-
I don't think it's a crutch as much as a waste of super if you're just self rez. You could easily be a walking tank with radiant skin and the ram lol
-
If you are soloing or doing knightfall then it's very useful. However while raiding I don't see why every warlock needs self Rez. Seriously help keep the orb train running that's my motto. Holding out from producing orbs is never smart.
-
PvE? Yes. PvP? Legitimate strat; esp. in Trials
-
I only use it in solo content. The other week I was soloing the archon nightfall with arc burn and a fallen ship killed me at the boss fight. If I didn't have self res then I would have had to start again. In other words, I don't care if it's a crutch, I'm using it
-
i feel its always poor sports who use it, like i kill them and they come back like an angry child after being told no saying "I DIDNT DIE NOPE NO DIDNT HAPPEN WATCH MY MONTAGE!!"
-
I see it as a crutch because whenever i see someone playing as a warlock in pve, theyll play recklessly and put themselves in bad situations then die, all because they have that safety net to pick themselves back up. Its especially bad in people that play solely as warlocks because they either never try to survive and get away or they hide like a little bitch until their super is back up, in which case they go out and die again The titan bubble is similar. "Oh, i pushed too far forward and nownim surrounded, let me just throw up this bubble shield"
-
If I see someone has self Rez, I watch their orb like a hawk. From a mile away with my sniper. Waiting. Hoping. Daring them to do it.
-
This why I always save my super those pussy ass second chance warlocks making me do things twice isn't good enough that I kill them but they self Rez so I can kill them again
-
It depends on how you use it
-
I solo everything mainly, so I'll use self rez encase I do something stupid or play too aggressively. Like whilst soloing the nightfall the hive ship one shot me whilst I was killing some vandals. Annoying to have to start all over again. If I'm in a group with people then I'll use voidwalker or radiant skin. Not good to rely on it too much.
-
Edited by ducksToDucks: 7/26/2015 8:21:12 PMIt's stupid imo. Makes it too easy and limits the warlock class. People just expect warlocks to be self rez sunsingers.
-
Its quite obvious that in these forums, anything you use to get the edge and beat someone is a crutch. Self res, throwing knife, blink, blinding bubble. Etc. Because in their convoluted minds no one can beat them.
-
No. You can be cut down so damn fast even in Radiance that it doesn't matter. It's certainly not more powerful than the two Hunter Supers. Even with Ram and an Armor-oriented build I still can't see it being too awful. You can still get nuked out of it like the other mobile supers by a Fist or Nova strike. Golden Gun can also handle them fairly well. It's too situational to really use to much of an advantage. I can pop res and get a sneak attack on targets not expecting me to come back from the dead, but it's still no better than rolling Voidwalker in PvP save for its tactical uses. Y'know, unless I'm missing something super useful about it.
-
Drops hella orbs no it's not a crutch
-
If I have self res equipped I'm either planning on a gun and run bravado or saving it for my fire team if we're in nightfall or completing a long raid or PoE
-
Pfft lol. Its worthless, a nova or a fist will -blam!- him up. Just a waste.
-
I use radiant skin with ram and I can 1v1 blade dancers, tank golden guns, and take final rounds to the face, radiant skin is literally the best option for all sunsingers.
-
It's a game mechanic numb nuts. Choke yourself
-
Is fist of panic a crutch?
-
Personally I think it's one of the weaker supers in trials, but having a safety ner in pve is being smart not using a crutch. Needing it is another thing, but I doubt most folks need it.
-
Biased poll is biased.
-
Ppl that use self res a lot in my opinion r riskier than other players and not all but some die a lot
