Etheric light only ascends gear from year 1, not year 2. I personally hate etheric light, doesn't let me enjoy the new weapons in HoW, since I can just ascend VoC, Fatebringer, WoC, no point in using any Other weapons.

Its not stopping you from enjoying HoW weapons. You can still get them and use them. But just know, there is no enjoyment in the HoW weapons.

HoW weapons suck, compared to any ascended weapon from vanilla or TDB. Thats a fact right there.
