If Dredgen and Jaren are not the same person, what was the name of the gun Jaren gives to Shin? If I'm not mistaken it couldn't have been named the last word because that doesn't happen until shin is grown and Jaren is gone. The name comes from the showdown that couldn't have happened yet. Which means during the time Jaren spent using that gun it must have had a different name, most likely he called it his rose.

The direct piece you're thinking of is from Last Word 2 and the quote goes "that was the first time I held 'Last Word'" So no. It was never a Rose, also Rose became Thorn. Shin couldn't have been given Last Word had it become Thorn.

Edited by Dredgen Lore: 7/26/2015 9:40:15 PMWell I've heard the argument the gun was stored in transmat form by Jaren Wards widowed ghost, which then delivered the blueprints to Shin Malphur. Also since it's a grown Shin Malphur telling us that story it makes sense he calls the gun the name he gives it rather than the forbidden name of his mentor's that mutates into thorn.
