So they chop up the original game so they can sell them as DLC and now they are chopping up the DLC so they can encourage blind impatient fanboys into Pre-Ordering the damn thing.
Its like some kind of cosmic sized joke. I am waiting for Deej and Bungie to come out and say "GOTCHA! Here is the real game guys with the real storyline intact! Enjoy!"
I was dumb enough to pre-order your game and its season pass and you served up a steaming pile. But now you are gonna ask me to pre-order your $40 "expansion"?
Yeah sorry I have a soul and I have a brain. I'll pass.
Normally I would make a huge thread talking about how shady and pathetic this move is and how big of a joke this game has become but I think in this case the majority of the community can see whats going on. They just keep milking and milking, taking and taking.
I just don't know what else to say than are you serious Bungie?
You guys remember any of this?
- "Rich cinematic storytelling"
- "Periodic PvE and PvP oriented events"
- "Explore the solar system"
- "See that over there?...."
- "Make your guardian unique"
Yeah...never Pre-Ordering again Bungie.
EDIT: Wow some of you people would buy sand from Bungie if you were standing on the beach.
-
- yeah, the story failed. no changing that. - Iron Banner and Queens Wrath were the intended periodic events, but QW failed and IB is overshadowed by ToO. - you go to earth, mars, venus, the moon, that's the solar system, right? - it was a console game. no one in their right mind should have believed that - you've got shaders, emblems, and class items to make yourself unique, and even if level wasn't tied to gear pretty much everyone with a pair of raid boots would wear them.

Edited by LetsDropBombs77: 7/27/2015 7:05:12 PMI've been playing eso for two days. There's more story in those two days than destiny has had since I've been playing. Its almost been a year.

I hope it gets delayed so i have more time with MGS5.

Edited by gilded_hotdog: 7/27/2015 4:05:56 AMSays the guy with CE pre order and DeeJ photo under his pillow. Scouring the forums for justice and liberty for all.

This how Activision making you feel buddy?
-
I will wait for the price drop (£40 is f'd up) and to actually see the content being played. TDB was a total joke, HoW was a little better.
-
You will buy it anyway, pre-ordered or not. You will be so worried about people getting the gear before you, playing the raid before you, levelling up before you. So you will buy it and play like the rest of us. The fact you came onto a Destiny forum means you still have a vested interest in the game. You will buy either way.
-
People are stupid.
-
I say we blame activision!
-
I'm not preordering or buying TTK until well after the dust clears and only if it's truly worth it. I strongly encourage others to do the same. You aren't doing yourself or anyone else a favor by preordering! ESPECIALLY DESTINY! Stand together Guardians, voting with your wallet it the only solution. Look past the pre-order bonus, they aren't going to run out of DDL...

Edited by Booga: 7/27/2015 6:17:23 AM"See that over there?" You can explore it for 4 seconds until you die because you didn't turn back. So sad.
-
I'm preordering turning in the codes then going back and canceling it. I win bungie loses :)
-
heard bungie didnt want dlc but activision made them or some shit like that
-
If serious - you are a strange individual If joking - meh

You speak the truth

I remember suing Koei Tecmo because they marketed Dynasty Warriors as re-living historically accurate battles. What ensued was me running into a battlefield, shooting lightning from the skies and killing 800 soldiers... they lied to me. It's all marketing, it's like how every movie is the best action/comedy/romance movie of the year. I'm not saying Bungie is right on every decision they have made, but, many people are treating them like they have a disease that will slowly kill off mankind.
-
You people calling everyone sheep are annoying don't you realize it is you who is a sheep jumping on the bungie hate bandwagon posting the same stuff 200 people said before you? No matter what you say or think we're going to preorder it an we're gonna play the living hell out of it. If you don't like destiny why are you on our forum?

They should have just corrected inflation in the games industry and charged $200 up front for the full game at retailers - including all DLC free. So that would be $300 for a collector's edition followed by a series of "loot crates". These are clearly the sorts of prices that the games developers and publishers of today consider to be reasonable to ask for their creations - so let them demand these prices up front. At minimum they should be required to set out the price of the game and all future intended DLC or other ingame costs up front - so consumers can make informed decisions from the outset. Gamers must accept that games will now cost $150+ and use that knowledge to decide what products to invest in. There is no way we will convince the industry to bring prices back down to $45 for a full game including DLC - that's uneconomic. If we expect them to pay their employees fair wages, make a glitch free and balanced product, provide us with decade long support on top of making a profit as a business within a capitalist market economy, we have to accept that prices will continue to rise and cannot be kept artificially stagnant. The only reason we want prices to stay stagnant is because average wages have been kept artificially stagnant for the last 30 years both in the USA and Europe.

They just keep milking and milking, taking and taking.
Haha that's exactly what you did with THIS thread, what are you talking about? Lots of games have DLC man. Usually it's just a couple extra maps which were definitely already developed when the original game came out. Bottom line is, the amount of hours that myself (and countless others) have spent playing this game means that we got our money's with 10 times over. This game has kept me entertained and playing for so long, and I genuinely find this game fun, so I will definitely be purchasing the DLC. $40 isn't a lot of money for me, and I might end up playing TTK more than I would end up playing an entirely different complete game. ...but you don't have to buy it though lol.
-
You didn't explain how they chopped the DLCs. Will you explain please...
-
Well, you see it was the pre orders that allow them to chop things up. That's why they stress "subject to change".
-
You make valid points and I have planned not ti pre-order as I know there wont be anything different from the $20 DLCs that we payed for
