Essentially, his handlers believe that the Mafia is a threat to their organization, and that those Punks who take their bounties and do their dirty work are the easiest route to eliminating said threat. Plus, Crane's a heavily modified cyborg, and displays very little emotion, and has, as of yet, no recollection of his past. Even If he was best buds with somebody before his death and rebuilding, he sees them as another civilian. Or worse, a target.[/spoiler]
