I'm on a strict regimen of manually resizing my screen bounds, switching to menu and running static to combat the evils of image retention and uneven phosphor wear. Hook up a temporary fix for the plasma users out there, then keep thinking about that slick, no compromise ideal fix I know you're looking for.
