I understand your point, the problem is we don't know how hard the nerf will hit Gjallarhorn.
If the nerf is big enough, Gjallarhorn will become equal to all other rocket launchers.
For Example
The new Raid rocket launcher deals 25k damage and the Vanguard launcher 22k.
After the nerf, Gjallarhorn deals 26k damage.
That would mean the difference between Gjallarhorn and a legendary rocket launcher would be minimal.
Conclusion
The important variable is the actual number of damage reduction on Gjallarhorn.
If the nerf is big enough it could make Gjallarhorn useless as an exotic.

"Useless" exotic. Hmm. Why do we play a game where we acquire special and rare guns if the rare guns are no longer special? Just give everyone the same load out like call of duty. Then we will see who is "skilled" at this game.

The problem is Bungie wants to make the game more challenging. If they just increase the health of Bosses, we'll have the same issue we had with Skokas in the beginning; Gjallarhorn becomes a requirement because without it, it's almost impossible to manage. On the other hand, nerfing the best PvE gun in game is simply stupid. A better solution would have been more complex mechanics of Bosses. However, the nerf is incoming and I hope it won't hit Gjallarhorn too hard because I love this gun. :)

Interesting encounters take design experience. Design takes time. Time is money. Which of those things do you think dictates the encounter designs more than the others?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
20% on Wolfpack rounds (250 to 200 damage). I really wonder if we will notice it... Gjally DPS is just so damn much.

I hope we won't notice it. I love to melt Bosses, but I fear the nerf will hit hard.
