Did you even read the patch notes? They say why they nerfed it. " Gjallarhorn If Destiny had a nuke it would be the “Ballerhorn.” We definitely intended to have a high damage Heavy Weapon that was ideal for PvE destruction. What we did not intend, and what we unfortunately saw, was pick up Raid and Nightfall groups gating participation based on whether or not players had this weapon. Gjallarhorn was so strong that for many people it had become the only answer to getting through tough encounters, and therefore they were less willing to spend time with other players that didn’t have it. We strive for Destiny to be a place where a single weapon or strategy does not dictate how, or with whom, you spend your time. In the new world Gjallarhorn is still worthy of its legacy as an exotic Heavy Weapon, but we hope it promotes inclusive behavior rather than exclusivity."

Again, if they really gave two shits about lfg morons they would work on in game matchmaking. Let lfg morons find lfg morons and let everyone else find everyone else. Nerfing pve weapons will not stop these people from demanding that players have the best weapons, which even post nerf Ghorn will likely be hands down the best launcher. Hell having xur sell it would even solve that bs problem as anyone can scrape 17 coins together. Boom all the lfg kids now have their Ghorns. Nerfing pve weapons doesn't help exclusivity. Making other rocket launchers deal more damage, giving things like dragons breath or truth an actual foothold in pve where they can be near the greatness of Gjallarhorn would help stop exclusivity. Nerfing Ghorn will either make it worse than hunger of crota which is highly unlikely or it will still be better than all other launchers which still doesn't solve the problem. They are not going to say in a weekly update that their boss design is terrible and that Gjallarhorn nuking completely exposes that 90% of all bosses are stationary sponges that have a dickload of health and nothing else that will stop you from sitting in the back and launching 14 rockets at it. Lfg is a great scapegoat because it looks like a player created problem instead of a response to bad design. I'm not even really that opposed to the Ghorn nerf. Nuking bosses is pretty dumb and I'm more annoyed by icebreaker/black hammer nerfs. What I am opposed to is the idea that they'll make more artifically difficult sponges that are going to be a level above the cap, spawn endless adds all over the place that are also a level above the cap while they all have the same AI as their level 2 equivalents but with damage sliders set to "instant kill". Maybe to mix it up they'll come out with hard mode where the adds are all yellow health for more sponges in more places.

  • Youre giving them too much credit. The are not nerfing guns to increase play time. Slowing down the grind will make people play less or quit. The gally nerf will increase raid exclusivity not create balance. The icebreaker will be used the same as usual. The hammer will collect dust.
