If I remember right, doesn't it say somewhere in Reach that MJOLNIR shields doesn't cover hands and the bottom of ones feet? And that they can focus the energy shields into specific areas of the armor to absorb more impact?

    They do cover hands and the bottom of one's feet. The difference is in order to provide tactile sense and grip the shields go under a millimeter away from your body and are typically weaker. Though, the operator of MJOLNIR does have the option to increase the shield thickness and strength in those parts at the cost of tactile sense and grip.
