How is that a stupid question? i do not see how grimoire is relevant to PvP. For example they may have a grimoire of 3380 but then they turn out to be complete and utter trash in PvP. This is usually the case. I have a friend who happens to have under 3000 grimoire (he was also a Beta player) but he is amazing at PvP.
