Ok here we go (this will probably be long as hell lol) "Long ago, I was an agent of kings, and I sped the growth of their power. I saw the triumphs of the ancient victors, and led their attacks farther than any before me. I sat atop a throne of glory, garbed in bright armor, with the azure crown of the shadow warriors around my head. But I was not honest with the watchers. I am not youthful and alive as I once was, though I still have my visions. The stench of the grave creeps toward me, weakening me and pulling me down." This paragraph explains how the Facade of the Hezen Lords was the helmet rewarded for completing Vault of Glass on Normal or Hard mode. In vanilla Destiny, it was the best legendary helmet in the game, since it was the only one that could get you to level 30. It showed that you conquered the most difficult part of the game at the time. The helmet itself has a glowing frame with a dark center where the face would be, maybe it references the vex. As time went on and TDB was upon us, the helmet was undermined by the new raid gear, so it ultimately "went to the grave" with other vanilla items. "My splendor was short-lived. Now I am alone, rejected and rotting, with no purpose to guide me. My masters employ dark, menacing warriors who ravage the homes of their enemies, slaying them all. But they will not stand against what is coming." The helmet was a top tier item for a while, and was reduced to mediocrity once TDB came out. The dark warriors could reference the Crota gear that guardians used in favor of the VoG gear at the time. The last line references ascension in HoW. "Then I see him. A man, clad in the garb of the dark warriors, walks toward me. He gives me a new weapon, one that will destroy all before me in a furious blaze. I look out at my old homeland, which I no longer recognize. For better or for worse, I have returned." This paragraph talks about ether if light and ascension in HoW. I don't know who the man is, but the weapon must be etheric light, which allowed the helmet to be viably used again. The homeland is the world of Destiny, which has changed drastically from the DLCs. The last line shows how the helmet has been restored to its former glory.
