THEME: Places and Events. #1. Where could it be? The sand is very immense, and the heat is extremely intense. Here, in this dilapidated land, nothing can grow, but it itself grows. Nothing can stop it's persistent onslaught. A slow death to a large land, but the land itself is ever larger still.
The answer is The Sahara Desert. Discovered answer by googankill.
#2. How? Why? When? Did these objects of great mass form from unintelligible hands? Why would such a shape come into being, or why would it's neighbor have a broken face? That cat and/or man?
Answer is The Great Pyramids of Giza. Discovered answer by ShadowFlame742.
#3. She stands with some sense of pride, as if it was deserving it. She cuddles the gifts she receives without teaching those gifts to maintain their humility. She stands in order to remind, to help, and to remember. ...at least, that's what the French implied.
The answer is Statue of Liberty. The answer was discovered by DeAdKiTtEnPiE.
#4. No one thought it would have a sequel, but it did, and when it started, it spread like wild fire over the European plains. The first country it invaded was it's own, the second was it's neighbor, and the third was it's "friend." It disarmed it's people, and then it's people's neighbors. 'Til d'day it introduced liberation from far neighbors.
The answer is WWI. The answer was discovered by DeAdKiTtEnPiE.
#5. Suddenly, an angel forced one foot into the earth and one foot into the sea, rolling the sky as if it was a scroll. The earth burned, but the sky darkened. The creatures went blind, and then they died. No blood was spilled; it was only and purposefully poured.
The answer is Hiroshima. The answer was discovered by CrunchyWolf.
WINNERS: #1. googankill #2. ShadowFlame742 #3. DeAdKiTtEnPiE #4. DeAdKiTtEnPiE #5. CrunchyWolf

Didn't do number 1 because I clicked spoiler alert and saw answer. #2 Space. The shape it's referring to is earth, and it's broken-faced neighbor is the moon - the moon which we only see one side of, which is a broken-faced, crater-scarred side. #3 Country/State/Nation-state. Every country stands on pride of it's flag and what it 'symbolizes', although we know that no country has any right to feel self-pride, because those countries are only the actions of the people who live within them. The 'gifts' are obviously taxes paid by citizens. The country itself is a reminder to all who lives within it of it's history, and welfare systems represent the 'help' part. #4 Is obviously World War two or WW1. I see no need to explain this. This shouldn't even be considered a riddle, imo. #5 Represents the grim reaper. The grim reaper is the angel of death. 'One foot into the earth' represents grim coming to claim the life of someone, while 'one foot into the sea' represents the connection grim has to the afterlife. One foot in the earth, and one in the sea. Grim is directly linked to both. 'Rolling the sky' is simply a slick way of saying that your vision fades and darkens to black as you die. Nothing special here. 'The creatures went blind, and they died' - well, of course. This is the grim reaper we're talking about here. These creatures are simply people, who die. The blood part at the end represents a person's soul. The soul isn't spilled because that implies that souls aren't accountable for their actions, and end up wherever they may. This isn't true in grim's case, because he 'purposefully pours' these souls into the containers that they will rest at for eternity - the realms that these afterlife souls inhabit. Easy. EDIT: I was wrong as hell on pretty much all of these.
