I don't often see this piece of armor being used - mostly because the exotic perk on it isn't very practical.
My suggestion is to modify the exotic perk as such - keep the current perk that extends the time tripmines are on the field, and also modify tripmines to detonate instantly when they are triggered.
Part of what is frustrating with tripmines is when you place them against a wall and someone is able to simply sprint through the trip laser without taking damage. Making detonation instant would make tripmines more of a threat and allow players that have the armor equipped be more spontaneous in how they place the grenade.
