It's actually nothing new. That's what most authors do and have been doing for decades. They use similar archetypes to make their own characters. While all my characters are all original, all of them also show similarity to others, but have their own quirks and a lot of obvious difference in origin story and styles. A lot of authors also use real-life figures for inspiration. I saw a lot of General George Patton, General Robert E. Lee and General Custer in Sauron. I also saw a little bit of Mel Gibson's character from Braveheart, but that's just me lol. The fact that you didn't see that means that I've fostered their own traits very well, which makes me happy.
