The voice pauses, then sighs.
[i]I won't lie to you. Ofttimes, our Potentials come from the police or are bounty hunters. In that line of work, two things tend to happen. The first is conflict between Potentials and Agents, and the second are mortal injuries in the line of duty. Even worse is when they combine. At that point, extensive Cybermods are the only way to keep us alive. It's what happened to me. I was running a freelance job, or so my handlers told me, with a bunch of other Hunters I knew. Turned out it was a black-bag for the Mafia, some poor kid they wanted dealt with. I objected, of course. Innocent lives hadn't been in the equation when I took the job. I pulled out my gun and my best friend shot me in the head from 400 yards and dumped my body in the river. I don't remember any of it, but that's what they told me. I wouldn't be here if the evaluation group shadowing me hadn't scraped my guts off the rocks and done about 30 hours of surgery. And now I'm here. Grisly, ain't it?[/i]

"Grisly indeed. Sorry for taking the shot, but you pulled your gun on one of my friends. Consider us even if I join." *[ ] pulls out their pistol and fires it at a leaping mutant, sending its broken body back down to earth*

The voice is confused. [i]You... Shot... Me? Huh? I already told you, all the data I got was from my handlers. Even they don't know exactly what happened.[/i]

"I know because I was there. But never mind that. Let the hunt begin again. May the best hunter win." *[ ] cuts the call, holstering their pistol and resumes their climb through the jungle of Sector-2*

Crane sits back, confused. Part of his programming was telling him that [ ] was... familiar. More than just another Potential. No matter. She didn't act like she was planning to kill him, but he was sure the others in her team had other ideas. That was... Regretful.

[b]you receive an incoming call from an unknown caller[/b]

Crane activates the call.

[b]you hear Victor's voice[/b] "So your Crane"

"I know your trying to find out where I am and you may find me but you will not find the others. I am not with them at the moment. I do not wish to kill you I simply wish to speak with you" [b]after scrubbing the signal it reveals he is in the building with you[/b]

Crane breaks camp and begins to move. This "Victor" cannot be trusted.

"I don't recommend moving or you will die" [b]you notice the dot from a lasor sight on your chest[/b]

[b]Victor jumps from his hiding spot and tackles crane[/b]

Crane unhinges his arm chisels and shoves one into Victor's stomach, piercing through his armor and pinning him to the wall. The agent then pulls out a pistol and empties its clip into Victor's torso.

[b]Victor extends an arm blade into cranes stomach, then he activates his shoulder blaster and fires it into cranes chest[/b]

Crane's armorgel stops both the blade and the bullets. The Agent lashes out with both legs and kicks hard, throwing Victor away and impaling the enemy Cyborg on a piece of rebar, knocking him out. Crane then re-safes the explosives he set, and lays camouflaged mines around the now-trapped and slowly-bleeding-out Victor. The agent bends the end of the rebar upward, ensuring the unconscious Cyborg cannot free himself when he awakens. Crane leaps out of the nearest window, into the dead city.

[b]Victor awakens [/b] "Some of your blood was all I needed" [b]he scans the room for traps[/b]

[b]Etana is at the end of the room.[/b]

[b]he breaks the rebar he's stuck on and walks around the traps Crane set[/b]

"Damn did crane do that?"

"Yup" [b]he's bleeding alot[/b]

[b]He tosses him a full med kit [/b] "Here you'll need this. You may be though as nails but you still need blood."

[b]patches up his wounds[/b] "I'm surprised you helped me"

"I try to put things behind me."

"Yet you carry around bullets with peoples names on them"
