Theories on the Vex, please add any you have: First off, I mentioned this on Wally's stream a long time ago, but here it is again The "leader" or prime Vex will probably be called Kronos. In Greek mythology, he is the father of all monsters and the controller of time. In other words, a perfect match with the Vex. Perhaps he is a new breed of warmind with a superior comprehension of time(this will make sense with the next theory) Origins: Far in the future, Rasputin/Kronos, sees the immanent fall of humanity (please note, warminds are designed to preserve humanity, NOT the light) it creates the Vex to go back in time to destroy the traveler. The logic here being, if there is no light, the darkness will not come and ultimately destroy human kind. This would explain why the Vex have the other enemy factions. Side theory 1: when the Vex came back in time, they were far to early, they built infrastructure on each world then went dormant. They slept through the golden age however, and didnt awake until the collapse (this explains Mercury's fall). Side theory 2: Upon reactivation, the Vex on Venus discovered the heart of darkness. Not understanding it, they determined the best course of action was to worship it and alerted all other Vex units.
