I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Gears of War actually had a really cool asthetic motif. The Locust themselves looked really cool and I liked how they differed from the COG in how their tech was. (Besides the Blue and Red highlights at course.)

I especially loved their mounts and the assorted creatures in their armies. That, and the Kantuses. Even the Weapons were really unique in their design, Just look at the Lancer!
